Dijon Hierlehy - Ceres Media: Pinpricks in white paper, LED lights, Iridescent Gels Measurements: 100 x 100 cm Remote control for brightness/speed included. Dijon Hierlehy - "Ceres" (2014) form a part of the ongoing series B²FH that looks into the ultimate dichotomy between the macrocosmic and microcosmic worlds. The lightboxes you see displayed here use imagery from dendrite and peltate wood patterning juxtaposing this with ideas derived from galaxies and star clusters. B²FH takes its name from a famous 1957 astronomy research paper which first explored the theory of stellar nucleosynthesis, that all chemical elements (except hydrogen and helium) are created within stars like our sun. At the end of their life, these chemicals are blasted across the universe, laying down the essential conditions for life to form.
